Welcome to the October edition of the newsletter.
This month's highlight is our fifth annual Modern British exhibition, the first from Osborne Samuel, our new name since the merger of Berkeley Square Gallery and Scolar Fine Art in June 2004. This exhibition opens immediately after the end of our highly successful Krishen Khanna show.
A fully illustrated 96 page catalogue is available and all works can be viewed on our website. Please note that we may well have other works available by these artists so do contact us if you would like more information.
We look forward to welcoming you to the gallery.

This year, as always, we have uncovered some fine and unusual works. Especially interesting are a group of rarely seen 1930s abstract paintings by Jessica Dismoor, Alistair Morton and Cecil Stephenson. We also have an exceptionally important early figurative painting William Scott painting, Seated Girl, 1937.
Our leaning towards the post-war period is again represented with strong works by Prunella Clough, Terry Frost, Adrian Heath, Patrick Heron, Peter Lanyon, Victor Pasmore and Bryan Wynter. We are also delighted to be showing two paintings by the late Peter Kinley, one from 1961 and a later work from 1978 titled Golconda. We can now announce that we represent the Kinley estate and will be mounting a major exhibition of Kinley's work next year. A new monograph will be published in 2007. |

This year we include linocuts by three artists from the Grosvenor School of Modern Art: Sybil Andrews, Cyril Power and Lill Tschudi. All three attended Claude Flight's classes in linocutting during the early 1930s when these prints were made and there continues to be a growing international interest in these colourful prints. The Grosvenor School is one of the gallery's specialities and will be the focus of future exhibitions.
The work of Edward Bawden has long been of interest to the gallery and we are pleased to have the very rare complete Bilston Garden Set, designed by Bawden and made in cast iron by the Bilston Foundries in 1956. |

This past year we have had sell out exhibitions by Sayed Haider Raza, Krishen Khanna and Manu Parekh. Here we include works by Francis Newton Souza and Avinash Chandra. Both lived and worked in this country and were part of the contemporary scene in post-war London. |
